The 3S Initiative, Sacred Species and Sites, is coordinated by the CCLP and aims to:
The 3S series programme, coordinated by CCLP, develops from the 3S Conference, in Cambridge 24-26 September 2007, and the 3S Course, in Cambridge 3-7 December 2007, to a scientific peer-reviewed publication and a project proposal in 2008.
Website:
1. Improve recognition, understanding and dissemination of the spiritual values of species and sites, connected with cultures and traditions
2. Promote the integration of these values into policy, planning and management
3. Facilitate dialogue on these values at cross-organisational and interdisciplinary level, and cooperation between academics, conservationists and spiritual leaders
- Demonstrate ways in which sacred species and sites can contribute to conservation biology, linking cultural and ecological diversity.
