Senior Researcher: ecosystem services (SYKE, Joensuu, Finland) The Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE) is an innovative and inspiring working environment for environmental professionals. Our competence is based on long term environmental monitoring, in-depth research and expertise on a range of environmental topics. SYKEs office in Joensuu is hiring a Senior Researcher for a five year position, which may be extended. The senior researcher is expected to provide knowledge for the assessment and valuation of ecosystem services in relation to biodiversity and sustainable use of natural resources. The senior researcher is responsible for interdisciplinary (ecological, economic, social and cultural) research on ecosystem services as well as for the conceptual and methodological development of the research field at SYKE. The senior researcher is expected to collaborate with colleagues at SYKE's offices and to participate in research networks at the Joensuu campus. The applicants should have a PhD in an appropriate field, several years of research experience, experience in managing large projects and success in carrying out research in the field of sustainable use of natural resources, excellent skills in spoken and written English as well as collaboration skills. We appreciate experience in evaluation and valuation methods, international networking as well as proved success in research project management. Salary will be based on level of responsibility and personal performance (4200-4800 euros per month).
