Networking & Outreach
The ES-Partnership is an open network to link researchers and practitioners with stakeholders, policy makers and end-users of ecosystem services, locally and globally. The Partnership aims to strengthen the communication between the network-members and other website users to enhance the science of ecosystem services and to bring the concept into practice for conservation and sustainable use.
We do this in several ways:
- Through this website and the ESP Member Directory
- By actively expanding the connections between ESP and Associated Organisations and Related networks
- By collaborating with the Ecosystem Services Expert Directory created by IUCN, WRI, Earthwatch and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development
- Through the provision of an overview of websites related to the activities of the ES-Partnership
- Through sharing vacancies related to the topics addressed by the ES-Partnership

Key initiatives ESP supports or is involved in
In addition to the above communication tools (directories, web-links to related networks, etc.), ESP supports and/or is actively involved in the following initiatives:
- Young Ecosystem Services Specialists (YESS)
This is a new Initiative, started by a group of young, early career scientists to stimulate exchange of ideas, identify knowledge gaps and possibilities for training and capacity building in relation to ecosystem service science and practice. >>> read more
- IUCN-CEM Ecosystems Services Thematic Group
This group was established by the IUCN Commission on Ecosystem Management to improve the knowledge base on the capacity of ecosystems to provide services and stimulate the use of this knowledge for sustainable Ecosystem Based Management through the development of case studies, guidelines, and dissemination. For more information, see the website of IUCN.
