This folder provides access to National Platforms on the topic of Nature Valuation and Financing. Currently, the NV&F network hosts the following platforms:
Each National Platform is managed by a Country Coordinator. If your country is not represented with a platform and you would like to start a National Platform for your own country, please contact the NV&F Coordinator Dr. Rudolf de Groot, or the Website Manager, Sander van der Ploeg.
If you wish to contribute to your Country's National Platform, please contact your Country's Platform Coordinator.
Australian National Platform
Australia is one of the most diverse countries on the planet. It is home to more than one million species of plants and animals, many of which are found nowhere else in the world.
Increasingly, the state/territory and national governments of Australia are acknowledging the need to fully incorporate all of the costs and benefits of development activity into decisions that impact on biodiversity and ecological health. Governments are also acknowledging the need to incorporate community opinion and preferences when making such decisions.
This National Platform is managed by Anna Straton, an economist trained in environmental, resource, ecological, institutional and evolutionary approaches to the analysis of economic systems and the social and ecological systems with which they are linked.
