A Global Event of Payments for Environmental Services will
be held in Lombok (22-27 January 2007). This is to move towards sharing all lessons learned and
synthesis in environmental transfer benefit and further exploring market mechanisms for increasing livelihoods
of poor communities while at the same time maintaining environmental
functions. A number of agendas is designed
to meet the objectives of the event. Please refer to the attached flyers for

Competitive based financial support is to be
provided to a small number of participants meeting certain eligibility
requirements.

We are also arranging an ‘information on markets’
event as a place for projects leaders to present information on their project (5
minutes for each project). Those willing to use this opportunity should
submit one page writing to describe (1) the background, (2)
objective and activities, (3) progress and future achievement before December 12, 2006. We will
compile all interested participants and contributors to the event and make
selection based on the highest relevance to the theme and objectives of the
workshop. For this event, we have a small pot of fund for supporting a number
of presenters to participate in the
workshop.
