From August 19th to 22nd, 2013, CiVi.net partner Eliana Pareja of the Ecologica Institute participated in the REDD+ training and improvement program, a governor’s task force for climate and forest. The program took place in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, Brazil.
The training program was organized by the Institute of Conservation and Sustainable Development of Amazonas (IDESAM), with the support of the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) and implemented by the Estates and provinces of GCF and Organize Civil Society. The participants of the training program were Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Mato Grosso, Pará and Tocantins, these Estates all have Amazonia Forest in their territory. Peru also participated, having representatives from Madre de Dios.
The trainings’ main objective was to maintain a leveled knowledge about REDD+ between the variety of governmental and non-governmental authorities of Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, Nigeria and Peru, focusing on the development of politics, implementation technologies, monitoring of consolidated REDD+ projects and initiatives in another estates or countries.
