Two Msc Theses in the scope of the CiVinet

Ofra Bosma and Vassilca Jeremias , two students from Wageningen University (The Netherlands) and former interns of the project in the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF), recently obtained their Master degree in Environmental Sciences. The field work for their thesis research was in two case study regions of the project, namely Ilha do Bananal, Tocantins, and Encostas da Serra Geral, Santa Catarina. Ofra focused her research on including deforestation drivers within REDD (reducing emissions from deforestation and degradation) project boundaries in Tocantins, Brazil by combining REDD with sustainable cattle intensification” and Vassilca in turn, investigated the “success factors and constrains of community based ecosystem management” with focus on a small rural community located in Santa Catarina. Three further Master Theses related to are currently being prepared, namely by Camila Jericó-Daminello , Karla Dilascioand Lucas Lima” our partners from FUNDAG, the three of them focused in the Marujá case study region.
